Karma Never Sleeps

*I obtained a free advance copy of this book in return for an honest review.

Imagine the stupid decisions you made back in high school, we all have something we look back on and shudder. Now imagine one of those decisions being so stupid they can change the trajectory of your lives forever. That is the premise of this book. A group of friends who get together to giggle, try on make up and talk about the boys they like. One fateful night something happens and they all promise each other they will never speak of it again.

Several years later, they are all grown women with relationships, children and careers. Suddenly someone is targeting them and it looks like that someone knows their biggest secrets. Did one of them break the secret and talk? As the attacks on them are being investigated, they close ranks to protect their own secrets, which only seems to be putting them in more danger and upsetting the person targeting them even more.

It's a good premise and definitely pulls you in so you want to keep reading to figure out the details of what they did that night and who may be after them now. Now if I'm being honest, I did figure out who the person targeting them was pretty early on, but I still wanted to keep reading. You ever see those mean girls who grow up to still act like they are still in charge of everyone around them as an adult? That was one of these girls and I really did not feel much sympathy for her. However, I would have liked more of an explanation of what ultimately ended up happening to her character in the book, I felt it was glossed over in a quick manner that just didn't work for me.

All in all, its a good, quick read. Some of the characters could have been flushed out a little more, but I enjoyed it a lot. I'm already planning to read more by this author, especially anything that includes the FBI Agents story and how it continues.
